Privacy Policy

Effective August 17, 2026 · We keep this in plain English on purpose.

I AM Isaiah 61 ("we," "us") is a faith-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving Houston, Texas. We collect only the information we need to accept your donations, schedule pickups and drop-offs, and stay in touch — and we treat it with the same care we bring to our neighbors.

What we collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect: your name, email address, and phone number; donation amounts and the funds you direct them to; a pickup address if you ask us to collect a goods donation; account sign-in details if you create an account (your password is stored one-way encrypted and cannot be read by anyone, including us); messages you send through our contact form; and your email address if you join our newsletter.

What we never collect

We never see or store your card or bank details. Monetary donations are processed entirely by Stripe and PayPal on their own secure, PCI-compliant systems; our records show only the result of your gift (for example, "$50, completed") so we can send your receipt.

Cookies & tracking

We use one cookie: a session cookie that keeps you signed in and holds your donation basket while you browse. It disappears when you close your browser. We do not use advertising trackers or third-party analytics, and we do not follow you around the internet. Our only statistics are anonymous daily page counts (for example, "the donate page was viewed 18 times today").

How we use your information

To process your gifts and send receipts; to schedule, confirm, and carry out goods pickups and drop-offs; to respond when you contact us; to send our newsletter if you opted in; and to keep basic records a nonprofit is required to keep (for example, for tax receipts and audits).

Who we share it with

We do not sell, rent, or trade your information — ever. We share it only with the service providers that make the website work: Stripe and PayPal (payment processing), our website hosting provider (GoDaddy), and Google Calendar (only scheduling dates, so our team sees the pickup calendar). Each provider is bound by its own privacy and security obligations. Beyond that, we would disclose information only if the law required it.

How we protect it

The site runs over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), passwords are one-way encrypted, donor records are accessible only to authorized administrators, and our forms carry standard protections against common attacks. No system is perfect, but we designed this site so that the most sensitive information — your payment details — never touches it in the first place.

Your choices

You can ask us at any time to: correct or delete the information we hold about you, unsubscribe you from the newsletter, cancel a recurring gift, or show you what we have on file. Just email jabu5178@gmail.com or call 770-255-9630 and we'll take care of it. (Deleting records of completed donations may be limited by nonprofit record-keeping requirements, but we'll always tell you what we can and can't remove.)

Children

Our website is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your information, we'll update this page and its effective date. Significant changes will be noted on the site.
